Digital Diplomacy
The New York Times has an interesting article about the State Department's new Digital Diplomacy. See http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/18/magazine/18web2-0-t.html?pagewanted=1&_r=2&hpw Social media is being used to engage with the world at large. As a result, State Department employees "can’t be control freaks." Hopefully, this sentiment will filter down to the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and its Cultural Heritage Center and transparency and accountability will become more than just what the State Department preaches to others.
