The Real Face of Egypt

Try as archaeological lobby might to put a smiley face on the Egyptian military dictatorship in order to justify a MOU with the US, the real Egypt keeps on coming through.  Indeed, it's not even safe to be a comic in the country any longer.  Yet, protesting against shadowy foreign "cultural racketeers" is apparently still just fine.

  1. Dictators, despots, military governments, and other assorted gangsters, have always imprisoned satirists or had them 'dealt with.' Look at Communist Poland for example.

The irony is, that when these regimes fall apart, the human detritus that formed these regimes in the first place and their supporters are nearly always shown to be buffoons. One prime example springs to mind.

    Best wishes
